Hobart is the capital of the Australian state of Tasmania. The city is located in the south-east and is near Mount Wellington. It is the oldest state capital in Australia, after Sidney. Reaching Hobart by plane is simple, as it is located 15 km (9 miles) from Hobart International Airport with regular transfers to the city centre via shuttle bus, taxi or by taking the metro from the Cambridge stop. The airport is serviced by airlines such as Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Australia, and Tiger Airways. Getting around Hobart is possible by car and on the reliable public buses. Visitors may opt for biking or walking instead as special pathways cater well to both.
