Uganda’s economy is based mainly on agricultural products. As the largest producer in Africa of coffee, this product alone accounts for over a quarter of its exports. Other exports include cotton, tea, tobacco, apparel, hides, skins, vanilla, vegetables, fruits, cut flowers, and fish. The natural resources mined from Uganda are gold, diamonds, iron ore, nickel, cobalt, tantalum, niobium, and other rare earth elements. Other industries include building and construction materials, such as cement, reinforcing rods, corrugated roofing sheets, and paint. Domestically produced consumer goods include plastics, soap, cork, beer, and soft drinks. One major cement manufacturer is Tororo Cement Ltd, providing construction material to consumers across the East Africa continent. There are many locations for office space in the cities of Uganda.

These are strictly limited and must be booked in advance. Uganda’s cuisine includes a maize porridge, served with a meat sauce with goat, mutton, or beef. In the many reserves there may also be wild game.
