Stapleford Area Guide

Stapleford is a town in the county of Nottinghamshire and lies west of the county’s administrative capital, Nottingham. The town sits on the border with Derbyshire and is close to the River Erewash, which flows close by. The stone cross at St. Helen’s Church is said to be the oldest Christian symbol in the region while the Hemlock Stone, a 200 million year old stone from the Triassic Period, can also be found here. A number of famous people including Arthur Mee, John Radford, Dave Watson and Sir John Borlase Warren, are associated with the town.
