Situated in the fashionable and attractive Fitzrovia district of London, Cleveland Street is home to one of London’s most iconic buildings, the BT Tower. The area boasts a rich history, and has been linked to everything from scandals involving members of the monarchy in the 1800s to Jack the Ripper. It is also the street where Charles Dickens once lived and where the historic Cleveland Street Workhouse is situated. Some believe that this workhouse, about which Dickens later wrote to authorities to complain about conditions, was part of his inspiration for Oliver Twist. With its enviable location in the heart of Fitzrovia, Cleveland Street is close to many attractions and places of interest. These include the charming Toy Museum, the historical All Souls Church, and the iconic BBC Broadcasting House.
