Camden is one of 33 boroughs that London is divided into. It is situated in central London and is one of the liveliest boroughs in the city. The principal neighbourhood of the borough is known as Camden Town. Originally developed as a residential area in the late 1700s, Camden Town is now home to an array of businesses and entertainment hotspots. This area is famous as the centre of London’s underground music scene, providing a plethora of music bars and eclectic venues unlike anything you would see in other parts of the city.

Business Information

Camden is fast emerging as a sought after destination for various businesses related to entertainment, tourism, and retail. Camden’s canal locks provide extensive shopping opportunities and house companies working in fashion, arts, music, and antiques. Camden has benefitted enormously from increasing tourist traffic to the area and has witnessed a surge in executive suites and offices to rent in the locality. Datamonitor, The White Company, The CarbonNeutral Company and Booz & Co are examples of companies with offices in Camden.

Entertainment And Dining Out

The open air theatre and zoo in Regent’s Park make for a fun-filled day of excitement and adventure. If you’re seeking entertainment of another kind, there are several pubs and clubs that offer alternative music shows and live talent gigs that are sure to keep you thrilled throughout the night. Camden is also famous for its markets, most of which are open throughout the week, whereas others are weekend-only affairs. Not only can you enjoy some truly delectable food here, but you can also shop for a wide variety of artisan products including antiques, furnishings, clothing, and handicrafts. Plenty of restaurants that offer all kinds of world cuisine can also be found in Camden.

Transport Information

Camden Town is the predominant underground station within central Camden. Other underground stations that serve Camden include Chalk Farm and Mornington Crescent. Kentish Town and Euston are two of the mainline stations that serve this area. Black taxis, minicabs and London buses can all easily be accessed in Camden. The London canal network can also be accessed through the Regent’s Canal, which is situated at the northern end of Camden town. Providing an alternate route to the London Zoo and Little Venice, the frequent boat departures from Camden market are a major tourist attraction in their own right.
