Festival City is a planned urban community located in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. This unique 1300-acre waterfront city is a mixed-use development offering residential, business, and entertainment options. There are three distinctive districts; Marsa Al Khor, Festival Centre, and Al Badia. The construction of Festival City started in 2003 and is projected to be completed in 2015. Many parts of Festival City are already in use, including the golf course, Festival Waterfront Retail Centre, several residential buildings, two hotels, Festival Marina, and business areas. There are two international schools in Festival City; they are Deira International School, and the Universal American School.

Dubai Festival City offers a wide range of business environments that include commercial and office space. One of the high-rise buildings is Festival Tower, which is connected to two 5 star hotels - InterContinental and Crowne Plaza, a state of the art Convention Centre, and the retail and restaurant district known as Festival Centre. Companies in the area include Panasonic, Philips, Sanyo, and Alcatel-Lucent. Dubai Festival City’s automotive park features showrooms for some of the world’s most prestigious automotive brands that include Lexus, Toyota, Chrysler, Jeep, Volvo, Dodge, and Honda.

Entertainment And Dining Out

Entertainment options in Dubai’s Festival City include Canal Walk, which offers more than 40 alfresco restaurants, cafes and a waterside walkway. Other attractions in the area are the Grand Festival Cinema complex, Bowling City, concerts and sporting events, Al Badia Golf Club 18-hole championship golf course, Festival Marina - a Mediterranean style luxury yachting hub, and Festival City Mall. Dining options in Festival City include those found on Canal Walk, at the hotels, the Marina Restaurant Pavilion, and at Festival City Mall. Popular restaurants in the area are Trader Vic’s, Jamie’s Italian Dubai, Brooklyn Diner, Karam Beirut, Al Fanar Restaurant, Fish & Co, and the Hard Rock Café.

Transport Information

Dubai Festival City is within 2 km (1 mile) of the Dubai International Airport where the Emirates Metro Station can be found - the nearest stop on the Metro. It has a developed road system and easy access to neighbouring Dubai for drivers. There are also many bus stops around Dubai Festival City including Festival Centre, which provides connections to the 4, 44, 53 and F08 bus routes.
