Located just 13 miles from the city centre of Phoenix, Ahwatukee is a sub-urban village in the American state of Arizona. The triangular-shaped suburb is bordered by South Mountain Park, Baseline Road, major highway Interstate 10, and the cities of Chandler, Guadalupe, and Tempe. It is also bordered by the Gila River Indian Community. Ahwatukee is the southernmost of Phoenix’s 15 urban villages.

It is close to the South Mountain Park, a Phoenix city park where you can walk, jog, picnic, go cycling, hiking, or play baseball and soccer. Hiking is a very popular activity in the South Mountain area. Trail heads include Telegraph Pass, Pima Canyon, and Beverly Canyon, with dozens of other trail areas also available. The city is located on Interstate 10 which provides an easy connection to central Phoenix and also directly links to Tucson. There are no rail connections to the suburb, but numerous bus routes serve the area. The Valley METRO bus network provides links to Ahwatukee and runs the neighborhood bus service, Ahwatukee Circulator, which connects the community locally.
