Burlington is a city, located in Ontario, situated between Toronto and Niagara Falls. Being part of the Hamilton Census Metropolitan Area, it lies approximately in the center of the Golden Horseshoe – a densely populated and highly industrialized region. The city has been listed as one of the best to live in, within Canada. Skyway Bridge is one of the prominent landmarks of the area; it stretches over 2 km (1 mile).

Burlington has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment. Lovers of art will probably opt for the Burlington Art Centre and the Joseph Brant Museum. Those that prefer nature can visit the Royal Botanical Gardens and the numerous parks all around the city. Watch the weather changes at Discovery Landing or go hiking and be part of the Bruce trail. Or if festivals are your thing, Burlington hosts Canada’s largest Rifest, as well as the Sound of Music Festival. With more than two hundred restaurants, Burlington has many options for dining out. Examples include: Easterbrooks – a budget option, offering foot long hotdogs, East Side Marios American – Italian cuisine at the middle of the price range, and Paradiso restaurant – featuring Mediterranean cuisine.

Transport Information

There are numerous airports in the Burlington area. The closest are the local Hamilton International Airport, which is thirty minutes from the city, and Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport, which is forty-five minutes from Burlington. The Niagara Falls and Buffalo New York international airports also serve the area, but are an hour from the city. The city is easily navigated via three major highways, along with GO Transit and VIA Rail trains. The city is cycling-friendly, with several long-distance trails available.
