Nantes is a city in the Loire-Atlantique département, of the Pays de la Loire region. This city is 35 miles (56 km) from the sea, and is just southwest of Paris.

Business Information

In Nantes, the traditional industries such as food processing, engineering, and the manufacture of components for the aeronautical industry, remain important. However the economy of the area has grown increasingly focused on fields such as biotechnology. A large scientific park designed to foster these activities has become the home of many industrial and services firms, such as Hexcel – manufacturing, Vorwerk, and Accenture. Nantes has worked to revitalize the city from industrial suburbs to places tourists and companies would enjoy. An example of that revitalization is the compound, Le Lieu Unique, at 2 rue de la Biscuiterie. This former biscuit factory has been converted into a venue for art exhibitions, a restaurant, a bar/cafe, and fashionable shops. There are many renovated areas that have executive office space.

The Musée des Beaux-Arts has one of the most important and varied collections of paintings in France. It is a must see while you are in the area. For dining, L’Atlantide is a restaurant offering astounding panoramic views over the city landscape, while serving some of the finest cuisine in the area.
